I love art group and getting inspired by all the other woman there! This is a class that was taught by Angela Meijer and it was called 'Better Than a Fortune Cookie', we did transfer photos on canvas and everyone picked out two photos with encouraging scriptures on the back. It was fun being creative, painting with acrylics, and putting mixed media such as flowers and grunge board on. This was done at Fuss It Up Designs! in Des Moines, IA.
Here are the my mixed media paintings that I have been working on this past week to get ready for Gallery Night. I had a lot of fun learning new mixed media techniques with my neighbor Angela Meijer. I had a drawing of the girl that I wanted to do something with and I transfered the picture on multiple canvases, then painted and added fun things to it. It has really helped me to express myself in a fun way!
|Step 5! Time to show...|
I've been working on this for a while and finally finished it! It was inspired by my 14 yr. old cousin who plays guitar whenever he has the chance, and is very amazing at it...I decided to make an oil painting after I was inspired by my friends in art group, who were also working on other oil paintings at the time. This is one of the paintings that I showed at Gallery Night in Valley Junction.:)
I got to show my art work for the 2nd time, but this time it was a whole collection of mixed media paintings that I did. I'm part of a painting group at Fuss It Up Designs & Boutique in Historic Valley Junction, Des Moines, IA. Here is a picture of the front window where you can see some of my work looking right back at you!
